You Can’t Stop Me From Praying

Every morning before my sweet princess goes into school, I remind her of many things.

Some days they’re different than others… Here are some examples…

  1. Listen to your teachers
  2. Treat everyone how you would want to be treated, the Bible tells you to
  3. Focus as much as you can
  4. Do you’re best

But the one thing I focus more on than anything, is remember Mama loves you, and Jesus loves you too.

Remember to let your light for Jesus shine.

One day last week she came home upset, which always bothers me. But what she informed me of, crushed my heart, till I heard… her response.

A little girl in her class saw her praying at lunch. The little girl told her that praying isn’t allowed at school, and that she didn’t need to be doing that…. So instead of letting the other girl have the last word… My sweet princess looked over at her and said very proudly, “I can pray all I want to, and you can’t stop me!”

Tears of joy came flooding down my cheeks. I have always been and always will be proud of my baby girl, but I was overwhelmed with joy that she IS standing up for Jesus. My 6 year old is standing up for God’s Word and what she has been taught daily.

God is so good!

Her prayers every night have blown me away. Each night she tells God just how much she loves him. I know he hears her sweet humble prayers.

My prayer is when it’s her time to be saved I get to be there, and help lead her to our wonderful Lord and Savior.

God bless everyone! May we ALL let our light shine for Jesus.
Matthew 5:16King James Version (KJV)

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to us (cha cha cha), happy anniversary to us (cha cha cha). As you may have guessed it… today is mine and the hubbies 1 year anniversary.  Woohoo!

Time has FLOWN by, and it has been another great year! As I’m writing this, this time last year I was saying prayers with my family and friends before walking down the aisle (at last) to my sweetheart.

Surrounded by our family and friends like family for a word of prayer together, before the ceremony. I could feel God all around us! So many people lifting us up in prayer at the same time.  Woo! I’m getting Glory Bumps again just thinking about it!

Winding Down

Sometimes it’s impossible to wind down, and i’m not just talking about with the kiddos in our lives.  When I lay down to go to sleep my mind goes CRAZY and it drives me nuts!!!!

Ya know, by the end of the day, you’ve went to work, you’ve busted your butt, sat in grewling traffic, pulled your hair out (well most days), got home cooked supper, got the princess a shower, helped with homework, dried her hair, and finally got her to sleep….

Okay… how at this point is your mind even functioning?! I mean I know it’s a normal typical day, but it is tiring, so how in the WORLD are you WIDE awake, and can’t get your mind to STOP thinking about what else you need to do.

There are only enough hours in the day, and I wouldn’t trade my life for anything in the world…. but sometimes I would just love to go to sleep, and get a goods nice rest. Anybody with me?

Somtimes I lay awake and count the hours until I need to get up…. Below is an example of one of my sleep records. Believe it or not, this is on a better night.

In the past week, me and my Princess have came up with an alternative way to set our minds at ease…. Coloring.

I have to say, it’s really worked for us both, and I don’t want to jinx myself or her, but it’s been great.  It’s our special time together, just the two of us, exploring our artsy side and winding our brain down.  Focusing on the designs.

Has anyone tried coloring? I really love my adult coloring book.  Call me crazy, but it’s therauptic for both of us.  It makes me feel like a kid again.

I would love to hear if anyone else has enjoyed coloring as much as the two of us do.

* Shadows coming tomorrow.

** Please leave me a comment, it would probably just make my day. :)*

Taming a hair melt down… and here’s how I do it

You wouldn’t think that just by brushing your little one’s hair, that you are opening up the door to mass destruction.  I’m not even kidding.  Does anyone else have a little one that HATES for their hair to be touched, much less, brushed.  Oh heaven help me.  Continue reading

Labor Day – Rest Weekend

wpid-20150822_194655.jpgWell, as everyone is celebrating Labor Day, we are taking a chance to sit around the house, and just enjoy each others company.  Besides today we didn’t get out of the house.  The Georgia Peach Princess was trying to distract us from the games. She went and got herself dressed, and asked, “So, where are we going? Are we going in the out now?”  We hated to bust her bubble, but… No one was going in the out… not now, not later… because Football season was finally here!!!!!

Saturday – well it was football, football and oh yeah ice cream, plus some more football.  The Dawgs came and played their hearts out. Chubb – well, he says enough by his ability and talent on the field! Give that man the ball – and it’s all she wrote.

Most of the games had some great moments, which had us on the edge of our seats. Some however, lacked in enthusiasm.  Leaving you to wonder, just what had these teams been practicing during the off-season?  Was it just first game jitters? Or where they in over their head.

It’s race time now, and Tony Stewart has a good car tonight! He’s had a rough year, but I’m hoping that things are looking up for the #14 team.  Go Smoke!

A Bunch of Gamers

Game time - old school style! Bringing back the Atari!
Baseball – Atari style. Dad teaching her about the game.

Tonight was filled with love and laughter… (picture says it all) bringing back the old school game of Atari.

Wow, it seriously brings back some memories. The thing that I love about this game system is that it is kid friendly. So many of todays games have WAY to much violence. I personally don’t want my little Princess’ mind filled with that garbage. The world is such a mean place. I want to do my best to keep her mind, body and soul in God’s will. “Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.”

The game isn’t just for kiddos, we got into to it as well. The simplicity of times, oh how I miss those days. I’m enjoying every minute of my little Princess’ youth! 🙂
